Given ahead are easy to follow tips that can make the workplace a nutritionally positive experience.

Have Breakfast at Home

As breakfast tends to be a very important meal of the day, its best not to skip it. You might have problem controlling your hunger and theres a strong possibility that you could end up eating unhealthy food in case you dont eat anything in the morning. Just drink a glass of water if you ever feel hungry while at work and see the result; your craving for food will significantly get reduced. Also, drinking more water can effectively result in weight loss. Feeling hungry can sometimes be an indicator that you are thirsty which yoo may recognize as hunger.

Divide your Meals

You can get hungry, especially when you have a lot of work and you could find yourself eating anything thats available around your workplace. Dividing your meals is one of the ways to prevent hunger. Rather than having a heavy lunch, you can eat half the portion at lunch time and the other half 2 to 3 hours later.

Have Healthy Lunch

These days several restaurants provide great salad options and you can eat lunch at such places if you want to eat a healthy meal. Bringing your lunch from home is the better option. A healthy lunch must include vegetables, whole grain foods and lean meat or dal.

Lessen Intake of Coffee

As coffee has an energizing effect, its one of the most commonly consumed beverage at workplace. However, it can be harmful for your health due to the presence of caffeine in it. When consumed with cream and sugar, it also gets high in calories. You could also have trouble cutting out coffee entirely from your diet since its quite addictive. Car maker DeLorean dies at 80

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by 4GEey3 on 27-08-2017

Monday, March 21, 2005

Automobile industry pioneer, John DeLorean, died Saturday in a New Jersey hospital by complications from a stroke.

DeLorean was born in 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to European immigrant parents. He received an education in automotive engineering and quickly rose through the ranks of Packard and later General Motors (GM). DeLorean was credited with the development of the Pontiac GTO, which helped introduce the era of “muscle cars”. By 1965, DeLorean led the entire Pontiac division, and four years later was promoted to the prestigious position of leading GM’s Chevrolet.

In 1973, DeLorean quit General Motors and started his own company, the De Lorean Motor Company. The company’s product was the DMC-12, an unusual car featuring an unpainted, stainless-steel exterior and gull-wing doors. The company started production in 1981 but failed less than two years later, having produced under 9,000 vehicles. Despite the company’s failure and the car’s dismal sales, the car itself gained a cult following after the release of the 1985 movie Back to the Future which featured the car as a time-travel machine.

DeLorean himself was in nearly as much trouble as his company. In 1982 he was arrested for attempting to sell $24 million worth of cocaine to undercover police, and after his company’s failure, he became involved in a multitude of lawsuits alleging investor fraud. Though DeLorean successfully resolved the cocaine case after claiming entrapment, his other legal cases would drag on until 1999, when he declared bankruptcy.

Man auctions his life on eBay, is disappointed at sale price

Monday, June 30, 2008

After auctioning off his entire life on eBay for A$399,300 (244 912.148) Ian Usher says he is “a little bit disappointed” at the final selling price.

The 44-year-old British immigrant living in Perth, Australia, put all of his worldly belongings up for sale on the popular auction website, including his three-bedroom house and all its contents, his car, motorcycle, jetski, skydiving gear, and his job at a rug store, for which he offered a two week trial period. He even offered introductions to his friends living in Perth.

Usher made the decision to sell his life after his five-year marriage suddenly ended. On his website, alife4sale.com, he explains that “despite my life being busy and fulfilled, I still miss my wife so much. Everything in my home is a reminder of the wonderful past we shared. So, after a year in this house I decided that it is time to sell it and move on.”

It was as much about moving on as it was about selling it for as much as I could get.

During the 7 day auction, which ended on Sunday, there were several bogus bids which brought the sale price as high as A$2.2 million, but the final price ended up at A$399,300, which was around A$100,000 less than Usher had hoped for. “I’m a little bit disappointed, but I’m still excited. It’s still enough to move forward and do what I said I was going to do, which is move on to the next part of my life,” Usher said. “It was as much about moving on as it was about selling it for as much as I could get.”

According to Reuters, the winning bidder, whose username is “mslmcc”, also lives in Australia, and has a 100 percent feedback rating. Usher says he hasn’t yet been able to figure out who the buyer is, because of the TV crews lined up in front of his home. “I’m trying to find some time to get on the computer and check it out … I haven’t looked (up) anything about them yet,” he said.

Usher now plans to go off in search of a new life. His initial plan, as he describes on his website, was to just walk out his front door with just his wallet and a passport and board a train, with no idea of where to go. He has since launched 100goals100weeks.com, which will document his attempt to complete 100 of his life goals in a span of 100 weeks. Some of these goals include getting a pilot’s license, climbing the Eiffel Tower, learning to play the didgeridoo, and shaking hands with billionaire Richard Branson.

“I was pretty aimless when I started this, and I had a vague notion of adventure, but I’ve come up with a much more solid plan, which is still very adventurous,” Usher says. He invites anyone who is interested to join him on his adventures.

Honda wins car, truck of the year, unveils Fit

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by 4GEey3 on 27-08-2017

Monday, January 9, 2006

Honda’s Civic and Ridgeline truck won the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards at the International Auto Show in Detroit. This is the first time a company has won both awards in the same year. The finalists were the Ridgeline, the Ford Explorer SUV and the Nissan Xterra. The awards are intended to recognize vehicles for their innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, and value.

Honda also unveiled its latest model the Fit, a US version of the Honda Jazz sold in nonUS markets. The Fit comes with a 109 horsepower engine, antilock brakes, six air bags, fold flat seats, full iPod connectivity, 90.1 cubic feet of passenger and cargo space, and 33 mpg for the city 38 mpg for the highway. A sport package will also include Honda’s first steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The car will go against another two new Japanese subcompacts, the Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa and will have to wrestle away sales from the category’s current top seller Chevrolet’s Aveo.

The car will start selling in April for around $13,000 to $14,000 as a 2007 model. The company plans to sell 33,000 units of the hatchback in 2006.

Many automakers expect industry wide sales in the US to be between 16 and 17 million units. Honda, which is Japan’s third largest automaker, hopes to gain US market share with the redesigned Civic and the Fit. Honda hopes that the company’s auto sales will rise 4% this year. The fuel-efficient Civic helped increase US market share to 8.6 percent last year, some of those sales were taken from Ford as gas prices rocketed to $3 a gallon. The US market is extremely important for Honda as it receives 64% of its operating profit from the US.

Hangi Maori Earth Oven

What is a Hangi? A Hangi is the traditional New Zealand Maori way of steaming food underground. The technique originated from early Maori settlers and is still practiced today because of the unique flavour it gives to the food. The way that a Hangi is prepared is truly unique. The whole process can literally take a whole day to complete. This article briefly explains exactly how a Hangi is prepared in the traditional way.

There is absolutely NO taste similar to a Hangi anywhere in the World. Hangi food is steamed underground. That’s right, the food is ACTUALLY buried in the ground as part of the steaming process.

If you ever visit New Zealand, experiencing a Hangi is an absolute MUST DO. You can’t truly say that you’ve been to New Zealand if you haven’t eaten a Hangi.

Here’s how it’s done:

YouTube Preview Image

Step 1: Special volcanic stones are located as a source of heat to cook the food. Normal stones won t generally do the job because they can shatter or crack during the heating process. Finding the right classification of rocks for this job is absolute crucial to the successful outcome of ANY Hangi.

Step 2: These stones are placed in a fire and heated for quite a few hours until they are white hot. The wood used can alter the taste of the Hangi for good or bad. Natural wood is best there are few special types which give a lovely smoky taste. On the other hand, treated timber or chemicals in the wood can make you sick or poison your hangi.

Step 3: Dig a Hangi Pit. Have as many friends around for this step as possible.

Step 4: Fill your Hangi basket with a combination of raw, but thoroughly defrosted, meat, vegetables, stuffing and 1-2 steamed puddings. Hangi baskets are usually constructed of wire or steel. The bottom of the basket is usually lined and the food has to be stacked in a certain manner for optimum cooking.

Step 5: Transfer the hot stones into the hole. This job requires speed and skill. It takes place near a hot fire and is the most crucial step. Once this transfer has occurred quickly put the basket on top of the hot stones.

Step 6: Drape the basket with moist sacking cloth.

Step 7: Use shovels to cover the Hangi again with earth until there is no steam escaping.

Step 8: Wait 2-3 hours and dig up the Hangi and ‘Hey Presto’, you’ve just cooked your very own Hangi!

Hangi food is typically served as a communal buffet. The food is spread out on a table and people usually help themselves as they please. Good Hangi accompaniments include Fried Bread or Rewena Bread (Traditional Maori bread).

If you want to cook your own Hangi there is a lot more specific information you need with regards to your equipment, preparation and timing. If any one of these aspects is off your Hangi could be a complete disaster. If you want more information about this truly unique cooking technique visit our website for photos, specific information and video footage.

Euro 2008 Qualification: England vs. Croatia

England failed to qualify for UEFA Euro 2008 after a 2-3 defeat to Croatia at Wembley Stadium, London.

Needing to avoid defeat to secure qualification, England got off to a bad start as Niko Kranj?ar‘s shot came off goalkeeper Scott Carson to give Croatia the lead after just eight minutes. Soon afterwards Ivica Oli? doubled Croatia’s lead.

England scored when Josip Šimuni? pulled back Jermaine Defoe, with Frank Lampard converting the resulting penalty. David Beckham, winning his 99th cap for England, set up Peter Crouch who equalised with a volley. However Croatia continued to push England back, and substitute Mladen Petri? scored the winner from 25 metres with just under fifteen minutes remaining.

Croatia finished at the top in Group E, while Russia also qualified after their 1-0 victory over Andorra. England finished third in the group, missing out on their first major tournament since the 1994 World Cup. Manager Steve McClaren‘s job is in doubt, having been criticised during the qualification campaign and dropping regular goalkeeper Paul Robinson in favour of newcomer Scott Carson for the vital final match.

Study says to clean your sponge, microwave it

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by 4GEey3 on 05-08-2017

Thursday, January 25, 2007

Studies done on germs and bacteria performed by researchers at the University of Florida show that a dirty kitchen sponge can be cleaned and “sterilized” by microwaving it for 2 minutes, but researchers warn to wet the sponge first.

“People often put their sponges and scrubbers in the dishwasher, but if they really want to decontaminate them and not just clean them, they should use the microwave,” said the professor who was in charge of the study that discovered the results, Gabriel Bitton.

“Basically what we find is that we could knock out most bacteria in two minutes. The microwave is a very powerful and an inexpensive tool for sterilization,” added Bitton.

The sponges that researchers studied, were placed in “raw wastewater” and then put into a microwave to be “zapped,” according to Bitton. The wastewater was a “witch’s brew of fecal bacteria, viruses, protozoan parasites and bacterial spores, including Bacillus cereus spores,” said Bitton.

Researchers say that at least 99% of the bacteria, viruses, spores and parasites in kitchen spongees can be destroyed or “inactivated” by simply microwaving the wet sponge, on the highest power, for two minutes.

Changing position, President Trump says FBI Director Comey was fired over Russia investigation, showboating

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by 4GEey3 on 05-08-2017

Saturday, May 13, 2017

Despite the White House’s initial assertion that Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey was dismissed Tuesday over mishandling the Hillary Clinton email case, United States President Donald Trump on Thursday told NBC that “this Russia thing” was among his reasons, mentioning Comey’s repeated claims that he, Trump, was not being investigated. He also accused Comey of “showboating” and said “the FBI has been in turmoil.”

James Comey was leading an investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia and possible Russian involvement in the 2016 US presidential election that placed Trump in power. The official reason given for his dismissal, overly harsh treatment of then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, was met with skepticism from politicians and the press.

[W]hen I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said: ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.’

President Trump also told NBC’s Lester Holt that, despite statements to the contrary by Vice President Pence and Sean Spicer, recommendations from deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein did not have anything to do with his decision, which he made before receiving Rosenstein’s memo. “Regardless of recommendation I was going to fire Comey. Knowing, there was no good time to do it[…] And, in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said: ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.'” He went on to express regret that firing Comey might prolong the investigation and said Comey had told him that he, Trump, was not under investigation when asked.

Trump told NBC that he had asked Comey if he, Trump, were under investigation, to which Comey had replied in the negative. While it is not illegal under U.S. law for President Trump to ask if he is under investigation, former U.S. Department of Justice spokesperson Matthew Miller described it as “completely inappropriate” and pointed out that Comey would not be allowed to answer under Department rules.

Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders disagreed with Miller’s assessment. “I don’t see it as a conflict of interest and neither do many of the legal scholars who’ve been commenting on it over the last hour.” She did not elaborate on the reference to legal scholars.

While some sources have said Comey requested more resources for the Russia investigation only days before being fired, one of his associates told news outlets this was not true and the investigation had no shortage of resources.

In his interview with Holt, President Trump affirmed that his campaign had no connections to Russia.

Four candidates for Comey’s position were scheduled to be interviewed today: a lawyer named Alice Fisher, an appeals court judge named Michael Garcia, Senator John Cornyn of Texas, and Andrew McCabe, who is currently serving as acting director of the FBI. McCabe has promised to “vigorously and completely” continue the Russia investigation and to tell Congress if any pressure is brought to bear to stop it.

Bring In The Luck Of The Irish With A Claddagh Wedding Theme}

Filed Under (Networkings Solutions) by 4GEey3 on 04-08-2017

Submitted by: Renee West

Claddagh wedding themes can be both cultural and decorative, depending on how far you want to carry the theme throughout the wedding. Whether you come from Irish descent or simply appreciate the culture, a Claddagh wedding needs to follow a few traditions. If you are unsure how to put in your own personal flare, but still keep to the traditions of a Celtic wedding, here are a few decorative ideas to make your theme come to life.

Suggested Color Scheme

The colors for a traditional Claddagh wedding should stick to ivory, white and greens. You do not have to use bright greens, but keep it within the green family by utilizing pastel or neon colors instead. Integrate gold or silver accents to keep with the traditional colors, while adding some elegance.

Flower Arrangement and Bouquets

Your flowers should follow the color scheme of the wedding. Some traditional flowers that can be used are roses and lilies, but no one flower is a tradition for this type of theme. Shamrocks, however, are a traditional greenery found in Celtic weddings; therefore you should find a way to integrate them into your arrangements. Depending on the time of year, your florist may be able to include some clover in the dcor and/or your bouquets and boutonnieres.

Keep your flowers simple and in line with the colors. Green can be used for both flowers and fillers in your floral arrangements. For example, ivory roses and peonies can be paired with green hydrangea and green rose leaves. Talk to your florist about how to pair your traditional Celtic wedding colors with your floral arrangements.

Table Decorations

Decorate your tables using traditional taste, but with a few modern twists. Use ivory or white tablecloths and integrate green or silver table runners to keep the setting very classic. Centerpieces can be made from flowers or you can utilize pillar candles tied with green and silver ribbon. Use elegant chinaware that is white or ivory and has either green accents or silver accents. Escort cards can be attached to Celtic knot place card holders and guests names listed on ivory or white cardstock using silver or green font. You could even name tables after different locations in Ireland.

Wedding Cake and Food

Stick to the tradition of Irish food by serving a menu full of Celtic recipes. Try pot roasts, roasted potatoes and very hearty dishes, which the Irish culture is known for. Do not be afraid to talk to your caterer about ways to make your menu more modern, but still incorporating traditional recipes. For example, rather than serving whole baked potatoes, offer puffed potato bites or a do-it-yourself baked potato station with different toppings.

For the wedding cake, keep the decorations simple, such as white or ivory fondant accented with silver or green ribbon borders. Use a Claddagh cake topper to finish off your cake and integrate roses or shamrocks as part of the floral topper and cake table decorations. Try fun flavors for your wedding cake such as Irish Crme.

Wedding Favors

Though many of your guests will not be aware of Irish traditions, try to culturally educate them with favors themed after your Claddagh wedding. Give away Celtic knot key chains or bookmarks. Four leaf clover soaps and bath salts using traditional Irish scents are always welcomed by guests too. Give away edible treats such as Irish soda bread wrapped in muslin, mini cakes or mint tins.

Parts of internet break as ‘512k day’ reached by routers

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by 4GEey3 on 03-08-2017

Thursday, August 14, 2014

On Tuesday many internet routers, used to find the pathways to different parts of the web, reached their memory limit of 512,000 entries in the tables they use to store the routes, causing problems for many users.

A router is used to direct a user towards the area of the internet where they will find the content they are looking for, e.g. a web page. The recent problem was caused by the arbitrary memory limit built into the design of many aging routers. A limit was needed to prevent the cost of hardware from becoming prohibitively expensive in the days when physical data storage was still comparatively expensive. This small amount of memory in turn limits the number of directions which can be stored on a single router leading to different parts of the internet. When this limit was reached, it caused outages of services among Internet Service Providers. Many routers, including older ones provided by Cisco Systems Inc., are limited to storing a total of 512,000 routes or paths.

This limit was reached on Tuesday, reported to have been triggered by Verizon publishing another 15,000 paths. Those affected included eBay, LastPass, and clients of the web hosting company Liquid Web, who lost much of their services until Verizon withdrew some of these new paths. Problems nevertheless continued throughout the day, even after the withdrawal.

A longer term fix is possible, but it would require manually replacing old routers with newer, more capable ones. It is hard to tell what issues would temporarily cascade though the internet by taking down routers from part of the internet for maintenance. Many experts have warned that problems could continue until these difficult fixes have been implemented, although the recent switch to a newer form of IP Addresses, IPv6, will temporarily help the issue. Wired News reported that Andre Toonk, a network engineer, had stated that the number of network outages on the internet, typically around 1,500, yesterday peaked at 2,587, enough to become clearly noticeable.
